Honeybee X8

Honeybee X8 nanodispensing system, routinely used for high throughput sitting drop.

Honeybee X8 enables automated miniaturization of both vapour diffusion and microbatch crystallization experiments at nanoliter volumes. 8 independent, non-contact synQuad channels dispense proteins and precipitants (volumes as low as 50 nanoliters) into pre-filled crystallization plates.
Flexible software is capable of programming varied crystallization protocols, including more complex studies using multiple proteins and combinatorial techniques. Comprehensive control of liquid handling parameters, with the ability to dispense into a variety of plate formats (96 to 1536 wells), enables automation and miniaturization of many applications beyond crystallization, e.g. assay assembly.
