The Hoefer SE 600 Vertical Series has been the standard for laboratory vertical units worldwide. The SE 600 Chroma is the latest addition to the line.

Temperature control is the key. The SE 600 has a double-barreled capacity to dissipate heat,

1. gel sandwiches are completely immersed in the lower buffer so that heat is transferred evenly on both sides of the gel;
2. a heat exchanger suspended vertically in the lower chamber cools or heats buffer evenly.

The Chroma produces sharp, well-defined bands. No smiling. Runs single or multiple gels at one time —two gels in the basic unit, four gels with optional divider plates— under absolutely identical conditions.

Runs gels at unmatched temperature uniformity from 1 °C to 45 °C.

Rounded contours make it easy to handle, easy to lift, easy to introduce sample, easy to disassemble.

Adaptable for three gel lengths: 8 cm for speed; 16 cm standard length; 24 cm long for increased separation. Accomodates denaturing and native polyacrylamide gels, agarose gels, 2-D electrophoresis and field inversion electrophoresis. A wide array of accessory combs and spacers enables you to tailor gel configurations.
